Within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness lies “The Enchantments” - an aptly named, magical area of lakes and peaks. Pooling below Dragontail and Colchuck mountains, Colchuck Lake’s cold water shines a brilliant turquoise. I painted this piece between dips on a July day.
